Admission procedure
IAST is the place to start for all those who want to make a success story of their career in the hospitality industry. The students can see the prospectus and the other details of the institute online. The faculty, infrastructure, curriculum and the students make the institute a perfect blend of academics and practical knowledge.

Form Cost
The cost of application form in person is about Rs.1000 if collected from the office and it is Rs.1200 if asked through post. The qualifying criteria for both national as well as international students are the same.


The interested candidates should fulfill the basic criteria required to apply for the course. The requirements include good communication skills and should have completed schooling from any medium school with English as one of the Subjects with minimum of fifty percent marks.

Selection Procedure

Students interested in the BHM&CT course should submit a completed application form at the admission office by the last mentioned day of submission.

The selection procedure for intake of students into the BHM&CT course involves a 360-degree evaluation of the student’s profile – academically, physically, mentally, intellectually, medically, psychologically and emotionally. This is ascertained by evaluating the student’s responses to the questions mentioned in the application forms, which help the admission panel, understand whether the student is a best fit for the course or not. The admission form is scrutinized by the admission board, which consists of a psychologist, doctor, academicians and many other professionals from the hospitality area of expertise. The students are then shortlisted based on the feedback given by the experts on the panel.

Students Profile

The students are well groomed to fit into the scenario of tough and hard demands in the industry within the three years of the course. They are good at decision making and undertaking personal responsibilities in tough situations. Multicultural programs make the students to become competent and learn to respect pluralism in all forms. The students are very enterprising and take active part in the sports club, music club, arts club, and debate club to prove their talents.

The course is a residential/non-residential program and the students learn to follow strict time schedules, and various exercises for toning physical endurance, leadership skills and social and organizational skills. In the campus interviews held at the end of the course, the students are easily recruited by top hotels and hospitality sector industries like Oberoi's, Starwood, Marriot, Taj, The Park, Novotel, Comfort Inn, Leela Palace and ITC group of hotels apart from a few foreign hotels like Al Sawadi in Muscat.
